Sep 22, 2022 - Spanish foods I need to try before I leave Spain

I need to keep a list of foods I wanna try. This is going to be a list of foods that I’ve tried (with their date) and not tried yet, with their corresponding pictures

Have tried!

Spanish Sangría - 9/16

This was proper good! Tons of fruit, didn’t really taste like anything but fruit. It was amazing.

Boquerones (anchovies) - 9/12

These were actually quite good, served in a mango sauce over an avocado. Wow.

Squids - 9/12

Squid! Wow this was seared to perfection with some lemon and black rice, but screw the black rice, these were amazing.

Croquettes

Oh my god… How can these little things be so amazing??
It’s super creamy on the inside and crunchy on the outside. These often have a protein and some sort of mashed potato filling.
These will forever have a special place in my heart

Padrón Peppers

These are grilled peppers that we did try, but they were a bit jank, so I’m not counting them 🙂
We had some non-jank Padrón peppers and they were genuinely delicious, to the point where even though some of them were super spicy and burning my mouth (and poor Diana’s mouth 😢) I still wanted to eat more.

Yet to try

Paella

We tried Paella once, but it was garbage so I’m not counting it 😁

Pan Con Tomate

It’s exactly as it sounds, nothing too special, but I wanna try it.

Salmorejo

Yummy cold soup.

Crema Catalana

From some website: One of my favorite desserts in Spain is crema Catalana — the supposed predecessor to France’s Creme Brulee (though there are conflicting stories here!)

Churros

Proper authentic churros

Other suggestions? Let me know!
